The Boy Scout Association was founded in 1907 by Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell. The Club was formed in 1953, following the amalgamation of the Girton College Guides and Cambridge University Rover Scouts Crew (formed 1920/1). The inaugural meeting was held on 6 March 1953.
